Petro Cocktail Bar
From poster to website, a night's identity.
We filmed Petro for the first time in December 2025, about three months before its opening night. Nine months later: 25 shoot days, 21 reels and a DJ poster for every night. The burgundy, champagne and baroque language we built on those posters became petrococktailbar.com, live in Turkish, English and Russian.

Starting point
Petro is a cocktail bar on Sıramağazalar Street in the centre of Trabzon. A neon PETRO sign hangs on a black grid wall above the DJ booth, next to a disco ball, baroque statues and a chandelier. The night runs in three parts: doors at 18:00, chill hours from 19:00, and the music lifts at 22:00.
A place like this has to be explained again every week: who is playing tonight, when it starts, what entry costs, how to get a place. There was no website; bookings ran through WhatsApp and the phone. Some Google reviews complained about finding out the entry fee and the rules only at the door.
What we did · Production
- 01
Before the opening
The first shoots took place in December 2025. A classic-car film built on a four-scene shot list and a promotional film were ready on the way to the opening night on 19 March 2026.
- 02
Scripted concepts
An office concept, a summer concept, a holiday night and a national-team celebration. Each started from a written script, a shot list or a moodboard; the summer film is carried by a voice-over.
- 03
DJs and nights
A dedicated DJ shoot day with its own moodboard: the portraits and cut-outs run on the posters and on the website. Sets by Samet Karabina and Gökhan Tutum, 'A night at Petro' and cast dumps.

A poster for every night
269 poster files since December 2025. A script first name, a serif surname, the time in condensed capitals; a burgundy ground, crumpled paper and a baroque statue. Shot on Sony A7S III, A7 IV, Osmo Action 5, Mavic 3, DJI Mic and Zoom H5.

What we did · Brand identity
Petro's logo already existed in burgundy, mustard, black and white. Our job was to build a night-time language around it, and that language first took shape on the posters: a deep burgundy ground, crumpled-paper texture, baroque statues and champagne-coloured headlines.
For the website we measured that language and gave it names. We sampled the colours from the logo and the posters, traced the logo letter by letter into vectors and rebuilt the poster's type hierarchy with web fonts. The venue's neon sign and disco ball came in as light effects. We called the concept 'Baroque Noir + Neon'.
The rules are short: at most one script word per screen; every time, date and price in Oswald; body text in champagne, never red on black. In September 2026 we turned the poster into a single Figma component with theme and layout options, ten text fields and one DJ photo layer. The week's posters now come out of that component.

What we did · Website
Programme, night pages, gallery, bar, visit and booking, in Turkish, English and Russian. On arrival a red velvet curtain opens and the neon PETRO lights up letter by letter. The night montage plays inside giant letters; as you scroll they grow until the footage fills the screen. Then an hourglass walks through the night's three parts while the background moves from dusk orange to burgundy to black.
Booking ends in WhatsApp: pick a night, add your guests' names, add a request if you have one, and the site writes the message and opens WhatsApp. There is no payment and no table picker; the page shows only that night's entry fee, and the door rules can be read before anyone arrives. Behind it sits a ready Go server with tickets, tables and a 3-D Secure payment flow, for the day the venue wants to sell online.
